Link to the Test
Thoughtful to the extreme, you are often obsessed with perfection and the rules governing your own personal interests. Your world is black and white. You love to work within a logical system, such as language, computer programming, or mathematics. Manipulating a system that can be completely understood is a distinct pleasure to you, because of your confidence in the underlying veracity of your belief system. Because of your appreciation for logic and order, those who speak or think in a sloppy manner are apt to generate more than their share of wrath. Although very amiable, you are not drawn to friendships out of a sense of personal need. You are just as happy by yourself with a good book or puzzle. Because you are so involved with thought, you will on occasion have difficulty dealing with the day-to-day problems of a normal life. Taking out the trash, doing the dishes, these are often left until the last possible moment, if at all.
My analysis of their analysis: This is only truthful with an aspect of my personality via learned behavior. My natural instinct is still quite spontaneous, but after a sufficient amount of burn, yes, I am extremely thoughtful by nature, but the organized systems with which I enjoy working are seemingly chaotic musings of society, humanity and metaphysics. I'm hardly the spelling or grammarian spelling nazi. And ask a developer...I'm not a developer. :)

When I didn't think about it and went purely based on intuition (but bearing in mind that this was the second time I'd taken the test) this is what I got...
ReplyDeleteOften concerned with right and wrong, and punctilious in expressing it, you are best represented by the Customs Agent or the IRS inspector. Initially seen by others as cold or uncaring, you are difficult for those more spontaneous members of society to understand. You are extremely stable, responsible and dependable. You manifest an amazing ability to concentrate on the issue at hand, and are difficult to distract from issues that are important. You manifest a great sense of loyalty to your employers and your government. You tend to show love through a display of committed works, believing that actions speak louder than words. You are also resistant to change and tend to believe that the old ways are best. If a behavior has been successful in the past, why would anyone want to change? You work best in a controlled environment.
My analysis: This one is a lot closer to my natural reptile brain.
You know....on second thought...no.
ReplyDeleteNeither of these works. I think the test is kind of broken...
I think I'm more broken. :/ :)
I can see aspects of truth in both of the results. And I feel that just because you embrace systems which are "seemingly chaotic musings" doesn't mean they aren't black and white to you.
ReplyDeleteAnd I know this is probably just my interpretation but I don't see the "sloppy communication" as being issues of spelling or grammar. I see them more as incomplete thought, unfounded opinions and vague statements.
Nonetheless- a test like this will have it's near and complete misses. It may well be broken. But I don't think you are.
Well....I suppose I see what I think the world SHOULD be as black or white...it isn't a question of what it ever will be, but that doesn't mean its not worth trying for.
ReplyDeleteAnd I thank you for thinking that I'm not broken. Tis true I'm not...mostly, but I'm not where I need to be. Yet.
As for incomplete thought, unfounded opinions and vague statements I have no idea what you me
Oh. Wait. (Rereads statement).
ReplyDeleteI see what you mean. Hmm.
There is nothing wrong with vague statements or incomplete thought if you don't intend to hold someone accountable for them. Just don't expect someone else to be a mind reader.
And unfounded opinions are also perfectly fine as long as they don't harm others...which is unfortunately almost always going to happen. Ignorance is indeed a great harm...and a danger unto itself.
Yes, more truth than I had initially seen indeed.
